A fun way to learn about animals that live in the jungle! You'll need mini jungle animal figurines or stickers and a large ball of green yarn. This treasure hunt is great played outdoors in your backyard, but can be fun indoors, too. You'll need to set up before guests arrive so no one sees where you place stickers and prizes. String a large ball of green yarn around your yard, make sure to go around, through, under, and over as many objects as possible. The better the maze, the more fun the kids will have unraveling the "vine". Begin stringing the vine at a convenient spot to hide a final prize, if you choose to have one. The kitchen window or door works well if using the birthday cake as the final prize, so you can set it up while the kids are busy untangling the vine outside or in the next room. Work your way backwards, hiding jungle stickers, favors, fun messages/hints, and animals along the vine's path. Remember that the place you finish stringing is the spot the kids will begin unraveling the vine.
Note: This treasure hunt can be easily altered to learn about any group of animals your child likes (farm animals, zoo animals, etc.).
