Birthday Fun Party

We put the fun back in the birthday party!

Kite Flying

Franklin loves the outdoors, so take a trip outside and let your guests feel the exhilaration of flying (a kite that is)!  If you do not have a kite of your own handy, you can make a simple one from sturdy, lightweight fabric, 2 wire coat hangers (or thin wood sticks), and a spool of strong twine. Cut the fabric in a diamond shape.  Straighten both coat hangers and form a cross to support the fabric. Attach hangers at the points of the diamond, and cut off excess wire.  Attach twine at the center of the cross.  To give your kite a tail, attach a 2 to 3-ft piece of twine and decorate it with scraps of fabric. If you don't want to go through the hassle and wish to guarantee that kit will fly, the easiest option is to go buy it at a local super market and buy one. They most likely have multiple kinds of kites and spools.
