Super Mario Obstacle Course
Mario games are all about surmounting obstacles and the reasons kids like mario games. Why not include the fun obstacle course activity as part of the birthday party celebrations. Setup an obstacle course in an open area using house hold items like chairs, carboard boxes, trash cans, hoola hoops, old tires, wooden planks (to walk on), plastic cones etc. You can also use natural obstacles like trees and shrubs if playing out doors. If you prefer, you can mark the course using a string from start to finish. Hide some treasures and treats like mario coins, stickers, tattoos, etc in or under the obstacles. If the treasures are particularly easy to find you may need to replenish with more treats between runs. The person finishing in least amount of time with most treasures wins the game and gets even more treats.
Super Mario Pop the Balloons (Goomba)
This is another fun mario world activity that kids will definitely love. Who doesn't like popping balloons? Only this time you get to collect hidden treasures that are inside the balloons. This activity is designed after the iconic elements of the Mario series, called as the Goomba. They are little brown colored mushroom like creatures that appear in the mario games. The Goombas are a minor enemy of Mario and can be seen aimlessly wandering around in the game. They way to kill a goomba is to stomp on them. We'll make goombas from brown ballons. Before you inflate the balloons add a couple of mario coin shaped candies in them. These goombas now can be laid around the obstacle course from the super mario obstacle activity above or hung from a string such that goombas are barely above the reach of the kids. The kids then get to burst or stomp these goombas to collect the mario coins. The kid with the most number of coins wins the game.

This is fun activity that not only can used to keep the early birds busy while other kids arrive but also as post party activity when the kids are waiting to be picked up by parents. You can print several of the Mario coloring pages available freely on the internet. We are providing some user submitted Super Mario coloring pages for your convenience. The coloring pages are available for several mario characters like mario, luigi, toad, yoshi, goomba, etc. Don't forget to purchase enough coloring supplies for the kids. After they are done coloring encourage the kids to sign and date the coloring page annd take their art back home to show it to their parents.
