Birthday Fun Party

We put the fun back in the birthday party!

George's Banana Boats

Everybody knows George's favorite food is bananas, so he would adore these! (They're a homemade version of the popular camping snack"”decorated like little boats.) An party idea with lots of "a-peel."
Ingredients:
- 1 banana per child
- mini marshmallows
- chocolate chips
- ice cream
Supplies:
- construction paper
- scissors
- toothpicks
- baking pan
- aluminum foil
Before the birthday party, cut triangular flags from construction paper, and thread a toothpick through each one. Prepare the food by placing each banana (unpeeled), on a square of foil, and slicing open lengthwise. Fill wedge with marshmallows and chips. Wrap in foil, and place in baking pan with others. Before snack time, preheat oven to 350° F. Place pan of banana boats in oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and place boats on plates. Top each banana boat with a scoop of ice cream, and a flag. Invite all the party guests to dig in! It shouldn't take much persuasion.
